Lachanas is a mountain village with an altitude of 600 meters. It borders with the Prefectures of Serres and Kilkis. Lahanas is the historical seat of the Municipality of Langadas because of the battle of the same name during the period 19-21 June 1913.
The Hero of Lachanas, representing an angel and a soldier, has been erected in memory of the fallen. You can visit the museum of the same name which presents exhibits and relics of the historic battle. Every year on 21 June the anniversary of the Battle of Lachanas is celebrated with great pomp.
The museum accepts visitors by appointment.
