Just outside the village of Sochos is the Holy Monastery of Panagia Theoskepastou of Sochos.
Every year on August 6, the monastery hosts the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos, which is kept in the Holy Monastery of Docheiariou of Mount Athos.
