Chrissavgi and the house of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

The village of Chrissavgi was built after the exchange of populations in 1922 by Asia Minor, Thracians and Pontians and its original name was “Sariyar” (Golden Rock).

It is said that the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born and lived his early years in the old village, which was 5 km away from the present one.

The village attracts many visitors from the city of Thessaloniki and the surrounding area, as the traditional taverns in the central square combine good food and contact with nature.

Chrissavgi is only a 5 minute drive from Langadas.
